A mere month after opening its doors Starbucks Montego has already brewed up a strong following of local support and overwhelming response from visitors on the city's famed Hip Strip (Gloucester Ave).

This is the first Starbucks coffeehouse for Jamaica and plans are already in place to open a further 15 stores across the island over the next three years. The wildly popular coffee brand which started in Seattle in the United States has over 23,000 locations worldwide. Jamaica became its historic 76th country of operations.

The café is located at the world-famous Doctor's Cave Beach, making it truly relaxing and inviting with the added advantage of going directly from the beach to order your coffee. The store features distinctly local design elements such as pickled-wood vaulted ceilings and louvred windows, preserved from their original state and enriched to create an authentic beachside café experience. The interior also features a mural by local artist Fiona Godfrey which pays tribute to Jamaica's rich history and coffee heritage.

Menu offerings include hot and cold beverages such as caffè latte, cappuccino, caffè mocha, iced caramel macchiato, nitro cold brew and vanilla sweet cream cold brew. Plus, frappuccino blended beverages of caramel, dulce de leche and mocha varieties including white chocolate mocha; as well as sandwiches, pastries, teas and chocolate brews. A unique highlight is the availability of Starbucks Reserve Jamaica Blue Mountain whole bean coffee — a rare and exceptional coffee grown by Amber Estate Farms in the Blue Mountain region, and roasted exclusively at the state-of-the-art Starbucks Reserve Roastery in the company's hometown of Seattle.

The excellent blend of friendly baristas, relaxed ambience and delicious blends of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee have us all suitably perked up.
