ROHAN Rankin, more commonly known as Pattexx, is a young, up and coming atriste making big waves in the music industry, with his hit song Summertime featuring Bounty Killer and Party We Seh with ZJ Liquid.
Formerly a student of Morant Bay High School, this gifted young man from St Thomas has what it takes to be the next big sensation. With his talent and determination it's only up for Patexx to gain success both locally and internationally.
TEENage: How did you get start in music?
Patexx: I started off in high school performing in my classroom with friends and from there I developed a love for the craft.
TEENage: At what age did you started music as a career?
Patexx: Well, from I knew myself I was doing music.
TEENage: Why music as a career?
Patexx: It's something I love, I can't explain it I just love music.
TEENage: Other than music what career path would you have chosen?
Patexx: Well, if it wasn't music, I would consider being a teacher, I got accepted to CASE, but didn't have the money at the time to pursue my teaching career.
TEENage: How would you describe your music?
Patexx: My music is positive, happy, with messages of love.
TEENage: What influences your music?
Patexx: Well, life influences my career, my music is all about my life.
TEENage: Which international and local artiste would you work with?
Patexx: Well, locally it would be Bounty Killer and I kinda got that already. Internationally, it would be anybody that can take the brand Patexx across the world.
TEENage: Which artiste do you see as a musical role model and why?
Patexx: Well, men such as Bounty Killer and Sizzla influence my music and I try to emulate them.
TEENage: What has been the most memorable part of your career so far?
Patexx: Performing in front of 20,000 people in Bermuda.
TEENage: Which song would you say is your greatest hit?
Patexx: Summertime featuring Bounty Killer.
TEENage: Do you have any current projects?
Patexx: Starting up my Production company Antznest Music, voicing artiste such as Bambino, ZJ Liquid, Iyara, Stacious and Twins of Twins on Antznest riddim.
TEENage: Where do you see Patexx in the next five years?
Patexx: Established as a household name both locally and internationally.
TEENage: Where has your music taken you so far?
Patexx: Other than been all over the island, I would say Bermuda so far.
TEENage: How does your family feel about your career choice?
Patexx: My mother was a bit doubtful at first, but since she has seen my growth and my potential she gives me maximum support.
TEENage: What advice would you give to other young persons trying to do music as a career?
Patexx: Stay focus, put in the hard work, love what you do, just love the music and work hard to achieve your goals.
