Flexxing with - DJ Nicholas
Tuesday, October 25, 2011
LAST Friday, TEENage had the privilege of Flexxing With Nicholas Eccleston, better known as DJ Nicholas.
DJ Nicholas' plans to launch his new album School Volume this Saturday at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.
Subjects being taught that evening will be Bad English (English), Fi MI Jesus Too (religious education), Cut It Off (skills and trade), Holy Ghost Gym (physical education), Devine Mathematics (mathematics) and more. This promises to be an album launch of quality and high standards that must not be missed.
This man of God told TEENage that his new project and album showcases a higher level of professionalism and explores a wider variety of genres with power-filled lyrics.
"School Volume is all about keeping it loud! It will challenge Christians to live better, evangelise more, worship freely and pray more. It seeks to help the weak to be bold and effective in their Christian walk," he said.
With over 70,000 followers on Facebook, Twitter and MySpace, and number-one rankings on various Caribbean gospel charts, DJ Nicholas has definitely reached beyond the religious community, tapping into the mainstream with his music ministry.
As he puts it, "Jesus did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance".
Moreover, these biblical values have been displayed time after time in his ministry through regular visits made to high schools to keep devotions and the prisons with the help of the On The Shout Family. The group has also managed to host several open air crusades in most known and unknown communities in Jamaica.
Already making appearances in the Caribbean, Canada, the US and some parts of Europe. Nicholas so far has certainly contributed seamlessly to his listeners by blending traditional gospel sounds with a touch of modern Caribbean style hip-hop. This traditional and modern mix as managed to attract many lost souls for the kingdom.
Notwithstanding his busy itinerary, the way he balances this with family is worth mentioning. "My wife is my biggest support in my ministry — she loves what I do and she believes in it."
With a smile on his face, he further went on to say that he is praying for God to bless them with children in the near future.
