Cherine launches band, video

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

LAST Thursday, Cherine, who has dropped the Anderson from her stage name, launched a double-decker of treats for her local fans at Oneil's Place.

She debuted the video for her latest single How We Living, which she directed, and her new band Rockfort Rebels.

With a concert to showcase the talents of her band members, Cherine delivered tracks such as Rebel (which featured DI on the original track), Good Love, Coming Over Tonight (sans Chuck Fenda), who arrived in time to move into Call On Me.

Cherine also gave way to her Rockfort Rebels stage-mates to show their talents. Original pieces by Stratdon (Shine Eye Girl); Jhamiela Smith (Another Sad Love Song) and Jazmine Lue, who did a rebel-fied version Dawn Penn's No No No also entertained the crowd of wellwishers and band partners.

Other members of the band are:

Keyboard, Stephen Maxwell; guitarist, Samuele Vivian, drummer, Hector Lewis; and bass guitarist, Damion Benjamin.

The occasion was also used to congratulate Dancehall Souljahs, who have supported the band in its growing stages and Brendine Anderson (not related to the singer), who is constantly updating Cherine on her progress in school.

Cherine and the Rockfort Rebels also premiered the How We Living video, which was shot on location Devon House.

The video, perfectly depicts the scenarios described in the lyrics and comes with a powerful messsage.
