She's A Maneater , the Wayne DaCosta-trained bay filly, who is the reigning Horse of the Year after a rare defeat to Will In Charge in the Legal Light Trophy on April 21, reignited fans with an electrifying run to win the $1.75-million Lotto Sprint Trophy at Caymanas Park yesterday.

It was her first win for the season after losing by a length to Will In Charge. and now well-sharpened, She's A Maneater was expected to set the record straight and that she did, romping home by three lengths in a time of 1:05.2 for the distance of five-and-a-half furlongs (1,100m).

Her trainer said after the race: “There is nothing left on the racetrack for this talent filly to accomplish. It was an excellent performance by She's A Maneater. I mean, the run was brilliant and she executed the race very well. There is nothing left for her to accomplish as she has done everything. It was a great run and I am pleased beyond words with the effort.”

Siempre Bueno (Wesley Henry) didn't have things his own way this time around as the chestnut horse was challenged by Mr Universe (Gary Richards) on the lead for the first half of the Graded Stakes event, while She's A Maneater was gearing up in fourth place, some way off the 'spit fire' fractions' of 22.1 x 45.0 set by the trailblazers.

She's A Maneater took her time to find a clear position in deep stretch and with the two leaders running themselves into the ground, Omar Walker produced She's A Maneater on the outside of rivals and the “super” filly, in a quick change of gear, flashed past her rivals inside the final furlong (200m) for a comfortable win in the end.

Sir Budget (Dick Cardenas), who was prominent throughout, ran the race of his life to finish behind She's A Maneater, the nearest he has gotten to her.

Sprint champion Chace The Great (Anthony Thomas) did well in deep stretch to come through for third place, while the improving Money Magnet (Oneil Scott) was game in fourth.

She's A Maneater, by Natural Selection out the Royal Minister mare Ahwhofah, was winning for the 13th time from 15 career starts with earnings of over $26.5 million. Her next two starts were second-place finishes.
