The top-of-the-table clash between Dunbeholden FC and Barbican FC at Dunbeholden Sports Complex in St Catherine will take centre stage on today's fifth and penultimate match day of the Magnum/Charley's JB JFF Premier League Play-off.

Both unbeaten teams have eight points and currently occupy box seats in the quest for top-flight football next season, but Dunbeholden hold the slight advantage over their Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) opponents thanks to a superior goal difference.

In the day's other match, Mount Pleasant FA, who have five points, travel to St James to take on pointless and out-of-contention Wadadah FC at Jarrett Park.

Both games are scheduled to begin 4:00 pm

Portmore-based Dunbeholden earned a 0-0 result in the reverse fixture at Barbican and enter this encounter knowing that a win would secure them a top-two spot and early qualification to the Premier League, regardless of the other result.

If they draw again and Mount Pleasant lose to Wadadah, the teams from KSAFA and St Catherine would both progress before kicking a ball in next week's final match day.

A third permutation can also work in Barbican's favour. If they beat Dunbeholden and Mount Pleasant fail to match that result against Wadadah, then Barbican would be sure of finishing no worse than second, not matter what happens next week.

At Jarrett Park, the Mount Pleasant outfit, which suffered its only loss in the play-offs to Dunbeholden on the opening match day, needs to defeat Wadadah to better its chances of squeezing into the Premier League. Anything less will almost certainly close the door on what has been a fairy-tale season.
