Black Stars atop standings in South Central Confed Super League

Black Stars sit atop the table with 26 points as action heats up in the South Central Confederation Charley's JB Rum-sponsored Super League football competition last weekend.

Old Harbour Bay blanked Moores FC 6-0 with a five-timer from Tajay Baker in the 14th, 39th, 57th, 62nd, and 85th minutes, and one from Saqlain Waul in the 67th minute.

In other results, Black Stars FC got past Vere United FC 3-2; Downs FC drew 2-2 with Porus FC. Romario Allen and Ajay Chin netted in the 24th and 59th minutes, respectively, for Downs FC, while Jahmar Bolt scored in the 20th minute and Delano Francis in the 88th minute for Porus FC.

Real Treasure Beach FC defeated Tru Juice FC 2-0 Greenvale Academy beat Hillstars FC 2-0, with Maxwell Robinson scoring from the penalty spot in the 70th minute and Nickroy Neish adding his tally in the 75th minute.

Dunbeholden FC came from behind to beat Rivoli United FC 5-1. Lorenzo Dubidad started Rivoli's woes in the 41st minute, Dwayne Smith made his input in the 70th and 78th, Ricardo Harriott added to the score in the 54th, and Nicholas Tucker in the 90th+3 minute. Romario Douglas scored Rivoli United's lone goal in the 21st minute.

York Town FC lost to Holland PYC 0-2. Andre Beckford and Romario Brown netted in the eighth and 45th minutes, respectively, for the winners.

Sporting Central Academy FC were beaten by St Bess FC 1-3. Oshane Coleman found the back of the net for Sporting Central in the 80th, while Tajay Coley netted a double for St Bess in the 16th and 67th minutes, and Nacquain Brown scored in the 88th minute.

St Bess are in second position in the points standing with 24 points, Old Harbour Bay United and Vere United are on 19 points, Tru Juice and Holland PYC on 17, Dunbeholden FC, Rivoli FC and York Town FC both have 13 points, Greenvale Academy, Hillstars and Real Treasure Beach FC are next with 12 points each, Porus FC have nine points, Sporting Central on six, Downs FC on five, while Moores United trail with three points.

Games are scheduled to continue today when St Bess meet Greenvale Academy at the Lacovia Sports Club, Dunbeholden FC meet Hillstars FC at the Dunbeholden playing field, Sporting Central Academy encounter York Town FC at Riverside, and Holland PYC meet Rivoli FC at Holland Football field. All games should begin at 4:00 pm.
