COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) — West Indies captain Darren Sammy has won the toss and elected to bat first in a World Twenty20 match against Australia at R. Premadasa Stadium today.

A win will ensure Australia advances to the Super Eight stage having beaten Ireland convincingly by seven wickets in their Group B opening match earlier this week. They named an unchanged side from the team that beat Ireland.

It is the first match of the tournament for the West Indies.
