Some of the island's top thoroughbred conditioners, among them trainers with horses participating in the Burger King Superstakes, share their views on the outcome of the race.

I think the Superstakes will boil down to three horses – Bigdaddykool, Will In Charge and She's A Maneater – and when I look at the race, I would say that She's A Maneater should be the winner because of the handicaps. It is not a handicap race, it is a weight for age race and rightfully so; the fillies carry 52.0 kg and the older horses carry 57.0 kg. But to give away five kilos to a quality filly such as She's A Maneater is a lot of weight. It will be the two best stayers she has ever met … and if I were a gambling man, I would have to say that She's A Maneater should be victorious.

The winner of the Superstakes will definitely be one of She's A Maneater, Will In Charge and Bigdaddykool. Those are the three best horses in the race. Anyone can win here, but the filly has the best chance, more so because of her weight. She is a classy filly and although running against older horses and two genuine stayers at that, I think she has the class to prevail.

Hopefully it will be me. I have a three-year-old filly who carries my best chance, but she will be running against older horses, specifically older colts, and going 10 furlongs against Bigdaddykool, who probably is the best stayer around and who has allowed everybody weight in the top class. Will In Charge is an up-and-coming four-year-old who has won his last three races and is an improving horse. He has already beaten Bigdaddykool but will be sitting at level weights in the Superstakes. It is a tough race. My filly is an improving and she should have a good chance.

I like She's A Maneater. She is working well and I think that Dane Nelson will make the difference. Her main rivals will be Bigdaddykool and Will In Charge. She's A Maneater is a very nice horse and the trainer is getting her together at the right time. Will In Charge is also an improving horse and has beaten Bigdaddykool already, but looking at the filly, she's the best horse in the country right now, and with Dane up, he will make a lot of difference.

Omar Walker is not here to ride She's A Maneater. I think Bigdaddykool is the choice at the moment because it is a different thing when a horse is accustomed to a particular rider and then an unaccustomed jockey jumps up, the horse can sometimes fail to respond. Will In Charge is going to be early, but I don't think he can stay the journey with that approach among these. So my firm choice really is Bigdaddykool because of the jockey situation of She's A Maneater. Bigdaddykool is looking good, working good, and I can see that he is definitely a healthy horse. He is just fit for this race.

I'm definitely going with She's A Maneater. That horse is a very, very, very talented horse. I don't think that she will be beaten in the Superstakes. That is my view. At 52.0 kg her favourite rider will not ride, so the trainer will have to use another rider, say at 54.0 kg, and that could be Dane Nelson but whichever rider that horse has, she is such a talented horse I don't think the one or two kilogrammes over will affect her performance. Her two main rivals are Bigdaddykool and Will In Charge. Bigdaddykool is a stayer of class – no doubt about that. He will relish the going, but I have the confidence that She's A Maneater will get the job done. She is a special talent.

In a race of this nature, knowing the participants is key to determining the outcome of the race. Is there any horse with the pace of She's A Maneater? Bigdaddykool has been working the best I have seen in his racing career, and with his love for two turns, the distance is just right up his street. Will In Charge is the horse who has come on best this year. Does he have the class? That will be known on Saturday. She's A Maneater is the favoured horse, and Bigdaddykool is the horse than can beat her. Determination of the rider on She's A Maneater will make a lot of difference. The race should be a 1, 2 between She's A Maneater and Bigdaddykool.

As far as I am concerned, She's A Maneater should win the Superstakes that's if she is properly prepared and properly ridden. Her main danger – Bigdaddykool – has had a physical setback, and I am not sure whether that will stop him from being a danger to her. Barring that, he should be her main danger, with Will In Charge third.

I think it will be a straight fight between She's A Maneater and Bigdaddykool. Based on previous performances, I accord She's A Maneater the advantage, reason being she is lighter and Bigdaddykool is a genuine stayer. But She's A Maneater has really been impressive this year.

Well, I really have not taken a very close look at the field as yet, but I think the best horse in the country right now – She's A Maneater – will win the Superstakes. Until somebody beats her, I am on her wagon.
