VCB shrugs off Jeter, advances to 200m final

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Veronica Campbell Brown shrugged of a challenge from Camelita Jeter taking first place in the 200m semi finals today.

VCB clocked 23.32 while Jeter finished in 23.39.

France’s Myriam Soumare was third in 22.56.

A pleased Campbell-Brown spoke with reporters after the race, "I am happy. I think I executed a decent race. I'll remain confident and try to put it together. It will be an extremely good event. My intention is to stay focused and to run my heart out."

The Bahamas’ world junior champion Anthonique Strachan finished fourth in 22.62.
