FOUR members of Jamaica's National Senior football team, along with the technical staff, depart the island today for Mexico City, ahead of Wednesday's kick-off of the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying Final phase.

Harbour View's midfielder Jermaine Hue, goalkeeper DuWayne Kerr, and schoolboys Andre Lewis and Alvas Powell are the players based here. They will be accompanied by head coach Theodore Whitmore; Warren Barrett, goalkeeper coach; Andre Waugh, trainer; Carlton Fraser, team doctor; Norman Stone, equipment manager; Nodley Wright, press officer, Roy Simpson, Manager, and head of delegation Bruce Gaynor.

Assistant coach Alfredo Montesso and Jamaica Football Federation general secretary Raymond Grant departed the island in an advanced party yesterday.

All 23 players are scheduled to arrive in Mexico City today, though at different intervals, and the good news coming out of games in yesterday's British Leagues is that no injuries were reported.

The team is expected to have its first training session tomorrow, followed by another 45-minute session at the Azteca on Tuesday. The game is slated for 9:30 pm on Wednesday.

Jamaica will face five other countries in the final phase of qualifying series in a home-and-away format, with the top-three earning automatic berths to next summer's FIFA World Cup Finals in Brazil. The fourth-placed team will earn a home-and-away play-off with the winner of the Oceania region for the final spot to Brazil.

Squad: goalkeepers — Donovan Ricketts, Dwayne Miller and Kerr; defenders — Damion Stewart, Nyron Nosworthy, Adrian Mariappa, Powell, Demar Phillips, and Jermaine Taylor; midfielders — Rodolph Austin, Jason Morrison, Marvin Elliott, Omar Daley, Jermaine Johnson, and Hue, Lewis, Joel 'Jobi' McAnuff, Je-Vaughn Watson; forwards — Tramaine Stewart, Dane Richards, Garath McCleary, The Robinson, Ryan Johnson.
