KINGSTON, Jamaica (CMC) - Jamaica's goal attack, Vanessa Walker, has signed with England’s Loughborough Lightning for the 2013 Super League season, set to begin next month.
The 22-year-old Walker, who last represented Mico University College in the Jamaica Netball Association (JNA) Super League, will join countrywoman Afrika Morris on the Loughborough Lightning roster for the 2013 season.
The two Jamaicans will be hoping to boost the fortunes of Loughborough which only won a single game from six matches last season.
Loughborough also includes Barbados player Nikita Piggott, along with English players Jade Forbes-Wattley, Jodie Gibson and Hannah Joseph.
Walker last represented the Sunshine Girls in a three-Test series against England in the United Kingdom last September.
She was also a member of the Jamaica team which won the Americas Federation of Netball Associations (AFNA) Caribbean Championships in Trinidad and Tobago in July.
