H'View, Arnett for U-21 bonus final
Sunday, February 19, 2012
HARBOUR View and first End-of-Round champions Arnett Gardens will contest the JFF Under-21 League's second incentive final following contrasting wins on Friday.
Third-placed Portmore scored a 3-0 win over overall leaders Arnett Gardens at Ferdie Neita Park, but it was not enough to earn them a spot in the final.
However, Harbour View slammed Village United, 5-0, at the Ellitson Wakeland Centre through a brace from Jeremie Lynch and a goal each from Kevaughn Frater and Romaine Lewis.
With one round of second-round games to go, Harbour View head the standings with 28 points -- five ahead of Arnett Gardens, who were losing only their second match of the season.
Portmore are third with 19, followed by MoBay on 17 and Tivoli on 16.
However, in the overall table, Arnett Gardens are in pole position with 47 points, three more than Harbour View, who overtook Portmore two weeks ago.
Portmore are third with 41, followed by Tivoli on 35, Boys' Town and Sporting Central with 27 each.
At Ferdie Neita, Steven Williams netted the only goal nine minutes before the end. Reno also got three points against MoBay at Frome, courtesy of Oshane McTaggart's added time penalty.
Meanwhile, at Brancourt, Vincent Mitchell fired the home team in front 25 minutes into the contest.
But 15 minutes after the break, Waterhouse drew level on an Andre Powell goal, and they secured full points 12 minutes later when Nickoy Williams fired home the winner.
At Clemhard's Park, Tivoli scored the biggest win of the day, with Nicholas Scott bagging a hat-trick and Davian Garrison a brace in a 9-1 drubbing of Highgate.
In the day's other game, Humble Lion and Boys' Town shared the points at Effortville after a 1-1 draw.
Jason Wallace gave Humble Lion the lead after five minutes, but Hugh Evans equalised 15 minutes from the end.
