Frazsiers 'Whip' Tru Juice to consolidate lead

Tuesday, February 21, 2012
Frazsiers Whip moved five points clear atop the LIME/St Catherine Major League after Saturday's comfortable 3-0 away victory over Tru Juice FC at Bybrook.
Christian Pen and Portsmouth moved up to fourth and fifth, respectively, in the standing as the former thrashed McCooks 3-0, while the latter edged Police 1-0 at the lawmen's training base.
DB Basovak inched closer to second-placed Rodwood when they turned back basement club Dunbeholden 2-1.
With Rodwood playing Black Lion today at Waterford, Frazsiers took full advantage to pile on the pressure on Floyd Coke's team, who defeated them for the mid-season title.
Unfortunately for Tru Juice and their new coach Milford Thomas, who was meeting the in-form league leaders for the first time, they were simply squashed by a brace from Jamoy Sibbles (26th, 50th).
The game also ended embarrassingly for the hosts when Royan Simpson (88th) reluctantly left the field after being ejected by the referee for serious foul play. Eight minutes were added subsequently within which Harlando Palmer scored a third for the visitors, ending miserable afternoon for Thomas, whose side remain just a point above of the relegation zone.
Christian Pen's inspiring run continued unabated with strikes from Devon Wilson (17th), Carlton Young (26th) and Kevin Patterson (76th), guiding them to a fifth straight victory, while McCooks Pen slumped to their third defeat in four games.
Basovak are now two points behind Rodwood, thanks to an own goal from Dunbeholden's Gary Gayle (38th), but Kevon Bryan brought the visitors level five minutes into the second-half. Bryan's goal was the first time Dunbeholden were registering a goal in seven league outings, but Devon Witter's side left Homestead empty-handed nonetheless, as Marshell March gave the hosts all three points in the 73rd minute.
Portsmouth recovered from last round's loss to Christian Pen with a hard-fought win over the lawmen, with Ricardo Bedward scoring the winner in the 72nd minute.
