DUANVALE, Trelawny — Leaders Duanvale and second-place Holland United have secured their places in the mid-season final of the Trelawny Football Association's National Rums of Jamaica Major League after last week's round of matches.
Duanvale extended their lead at the top of the points table on Saturday after beating Exidos So Fresh 2-1 at the Duanvale playing field.
The leaders scored their eighth win of the season to improve to 26 points, three more than second-placed Holland United with third-placed Granville a further four points back, all from 10 games.
With one round of matches still to come this weekend, the top two cannot be caught and will contest the incentive final.
On Saturday Orraine Lewis and Lanceford Parkinson scored in the first half to give Duanvale a 2-0 lead before AJohn Walker pulled a goal back just before half-time for Exidos, who stayed in eighth place on 11 points.
Jackson Town stayed in fourth place with 17 points after a 1-0 win over Prospect Links at Samuel Prospect playing field.
Friendship FC moved off the bottom of the table after beating Flames 3-0 with goals from Janory Brown in the 25th, Renardo Rowe in the 60th, and Demoy Reid in the 67th minute.
The points only took them as far as second last, however, as they improved to six points, one more than Spicy Hill and one behind Salt Marsh.
