Gyal Summa is the title of the mixtape that was recently released by Darkcide. Presented by DJ So Sick, the project features a nice blend of hip hop, Afrobeat and dancehall treats.

DJ So Sick (given name Stephen Roxburgh) spoke about the inspiration behind the project.

“The inspiration behind Gyal Summa was really as the name suggests, summertime hot but the ladies are even hotter. So, I had to do something for them to enjoy.”

Recorded in one evening, the mixtape is 40 minutes long and, according to DJ So Sick: “The songs consist of some of the females' favourite genres.”

DJ So Sick has been a member of Darkcide.

“I've been doing music professionally for six years and been with Darkcide about that time. Rebranding is now the priority, so everyone can look out for more stuff coming out of the Darkcide camp. This mixtape is the first of many new projects to come,” he told Jamaica Observer's weekly Splash.

Now in his early 20s, DJ So Sick began his musical pursuits while still a student at St George's College.

“Music really began for me during my time in high school, St George's College, way back in 2007. I was fortunate to be around some of the industry's top DJs and artistes. That sparked the interest and it continued to grow,” said So Sick.
