Palm Beach Jerk Fest to thrill

Friday, May 19, 2017

Tarrus Riley, Agent Sasco, Wayne Wonder, and Half Pint are among several performers at this year's Palm Beach Jerk and Caribbean Culture Festival.

Now in its 14th staging, the event is scheduled for the South Florida Fairgrounds in West Palm Beach Florida on May 29.

Keisha Freeman, publicist for Full-A-Vybez Inc –– organisers of the event, said this year's staging will feature several new additions.

“This year we are even more focused on the family; we will have a kids zone, a party pavilion, arts and craft, a jerk contest, live music, great food and a host of entertainment for everyone, no matter the age, in a safe and secure environment. Children under 12 will also be admitted free,” she told Splash.

“Attendees will have an opportunity to indulge in succulent dishes and tasty libations and, of course, being swept off their feet by the life performers,” said Freeman.

Freeman further stated that the festival honours the cultural richness, heritage and flavour that the Caribbean jerk seasoning lends to food and traditions.

For the young and young at heart, the day party within the Jerk Fest, dubbed the Jerk Explosion Party Pavilion, is sure to entertain. Popular disc jocks and a dance contest are part of the entertainment package planned for the event.
