Beenie Man to go live

Friday, November 03, 2017

BEENIE Man is slated to take centre stage at an unplugged performance billed Live At The Devon at Reggae Mill Bar in Devon House, St Andrew, next Thursday.

The event, first in a new series of live stagings organised by Willcom Creative and SMA Talent Jamaica, will give music lovers a chance to enjoy some of their favourite artistes like never before.

“The whole concept behind Live At The Devon was to showcase Jamaican entertainment in a different, unique way, and to bring the fans closer to the artistes and their art. A lot of times patrons are forced to enjoy a performance from a distance in a stage show environment; this is not that. We wanted to tailor an event for those who wanted a more intimate experience. For our first staging we decided to showcase Beenie Man not only because of his extensive catalogue, but he is a master performer, one of the best in the business,” said Chad Williams, member of the organising team.

Beenie Man (given name Moses Davis) won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 2001 for Art and Life, distributed by Virgin.

His tracks include Romie, Who Am I, Girls Dem Sugar, and Dude featuring Ms Thing.
