COOPERS PEN, Trelawny — Knock-out champions Coopers Pen could secure their place in the mid-season final of the Trelawny Football Association’s Monymusk Plantation Rum Major League this afternoon with a win over Harmony FC in their top of Zone One return-round clash at home.

Coopers Pen lead the Zone with 22 points, and a win over second-placed Harmony FC would put them out of reach and ensure their place in the consolation final set for Sunday, April 2.

Baca Star United hold a similar three-point lead in Zone Two over Duanvale FC, and the two will meet on Sunday.

The first meeting between Coopers Pen and Harmony FC ended in a 2-2 draw, the only blemish on Coopers Pen’s record this season, while Harmony FC slipped up last weekend when they got hammered 4-1 by Salt Marsh United.

Harmony FC, the competition’s top-scoring team with 24 goals in eight games, must bounce back immediately from their loss and beat Coopers Pen today if they are to have a chance of passing them for the mid-season place.

The game will pit the zone’s leading team against Coopers Pen - the best defensive team - who also has the league’s top scorer Shaunavan McKenzie with six goals so far.

Harmony have the best attack with three players on four goals: Shannary Brown, Shaquille Reid and Ricardo Reid.
