MONTEGO BAY, St James — American Airlines honoured their top travel agencies in Jamaica for last year during an awards and dinner ceremony hosted at Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort last Friday.

The three top agencies are: Trafalgar Travel, Total Travel and Digicel Travel.

“In Jamaica we have our travel professionals. We are here tonight to recognise our top accounts, hosting them for a night at Sandals Royal, and also having a dinner and awards event thanking them for loyalty and their business and support of American Airlines,” an elated Loraine D'Aguillar, American Airlines channel sales manager in Jamaica, told Jamaica Observer West.

The airline's Caribbean sales manager, Marvin Alvarez Ochoa, was equally enthused.

“We are very happy to be here tonight, supporting Jamaica, trying to increase business to Jamaica, supporting the travel agent community by giving them an award to recognise their effort and to thank them for their continued support,” Ochoa told Observer West.

In addition to their awards, the American Airlines Caribbean sales manager offered all in attendance at the dinner free airline tickets.

She then disclosed that at the behest of passengers, additional routes will be added to the Caribbean soon.

“We are excited about a lot of new routes we are going to have. We are increasing right through the Caribbean. We have new flights to Bonaire, we are going to have St Vincent, we are adding service to Barbados, to Aruba, Turks and Caicos, St Lucia….” she disclosed.

A number of seasonal routes will also be added to Jamaica this summer.
