The race for the remaining three places in the semi-finals of the St James Football Association's Sandals Resorts International Senior League is expected to intensify as the third round quickly draws to a close.

As many as four teams are seeking to join former champions Catherine Hall FC, who secured the top spot last week after beating MoBay City FC 2-0 at the UDC field to move to 26 points.

Heights FC, who are on 22 points, took over second place on Tuesday after beating third-placed Seba FC 2-0 at the UDC, while Marl Road kept their hopes alive with a 4-1 win over Lilliput Rovers at Bickersteth with Dwayne Hacker scoring all four goals.

Heights FC have one game to go and must win if they are to be certain of a place in the top four. Seba FC are in third place on 19 points with two games to be played, while Lilliput Rovers and Melbourne Mind Game FC are tied on 18 points.

Lilliput Rovers have two games in hand, while Melbourne Mind game will complete their fixtures tomorrow against Club Star FC.

Marl Road are on 14 points but have three games to play, and if they win all of them they can sneak into the semi-finals.

They could move even further up the tables when they play out of contention MoBay City FC at Bickersteth, tomorrow.

On Saturday, Catherine Hall will face relegation- threatened Revelation FC at the UDC field as they prepare for the start of the semi-finals.

On Tuesday, Hacker had his best day in the league as he scored all four goals in his team's win, after scoring just two up to then, all season.

His 19th minute strike gave the team the lead at half time and added a second goal in the 47th minute.

Rohan Blake scored in the 58th minute to pull Lilliput Rovers back, but Hacker completed his hat trick in the 71st minute and added another in the 89th minute.

At the UDC field, Heights FC kept their hopes alive with a win over Seba FC with goals from Anthony Gooden in the 17th minute and Wade Daley in the 80th.
