Sigma Run early bird registration closes tomorrow

INDIVIDUALS wishing to participate in the 2019 staging of the Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run are being urged to take advantage of its early bird registration, before it closes on January 18.

The early bird registration provides a special cost of $1,200 per individual participant for race day, scheduled for February 17, 2019. Following the close of the 'early bird' period, full cost of registration, which is $1,500, will take effect.

Companies and groups can also sign up to participate on the Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run website at www.sagicorsigmarun.com, in one of three categories: Large corporate teams can have a minimum of 100 participants and make a contribution of $85,000; small corporate teams can have between 31 and 50 members and contribute $50,000; while non-corporate teams can have between 10 and 20 participants and contribute $20,000.

Large corporate and small corporate teams will contribute $1,050 and $1,100, respectively, per additional person, before close of early bird registration, after which teams will be asked to contribute $1,500 per additional person.

Official registration closes on February 1, 2019.

Sagicor Sigma Run 2019, which is now in its 21st year, has a fund-raising goal of $52 million, which will go towards helping the Lupus Foundation of Jamaica, the Diabetes Association of Jamaica and the May Pen Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run is the largest road race in the Caribbean and has raised more than $350 million in donations for 30 beneficiaries since its inception in 1999. The event saw record 26,519 registrants for the 2018 staging, raising $50 million for the Spanish Town Hospital's Neonatal Unit and St Christopher's School for Deaf.

In addition to monies earned from registration, individuals can contribute to the fund-raising efforts by donating via the website, direct deposit to Sagicor Foundation Jamaica Sigma Run 2019 JMD Business Savings Account – 5502907486 held at Sagicor Bank, or by purchasing Sigma Run branded items, which include athletic gear and T-shirts for men and women. Cheques can also be made payable to Sagicor Foundation Jamaica or Sigma Run 2019.
