The Reggae Girlz are bubbling with excitement about their experiences at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort during the historic pre-Women's World Cup Training Camp currently taking place in the garden parish of St Ann.

“This is undoubtedly one of the best parts of our stay in Ocho Rios,” gushed Dominique Bond-Flasza, the hard-tackling and skilful defender who plays for PSV in the Dutch League and scored the decisive penalty that catapulted the Jamaica team into the World Cup in France later this year.

Sandals Resorts International are sponsoring the meals for the team during the duration of the camp, as well as affording the players and trainers use of the state-of-the-art gym facilities at Sandals Ochi Beach Resort, to help keep them in supreme physical condition.

The first-ever pre-World Cup training camp runs from January 16-21 at the Drax Hall field in St Ann, with some 32 players and 12 officials being involved.

“Sandals has such great facilities and the food is simply awesome,” Bond-Flasza raved, adding that “the view on the property is just so gorgeous and most of all, the staff are amazingly friendly and efficient. We are very happy to be here and a big thank you to Sandals for the hospitality extended to our team. We are very grateful”.

The Reggae Girlz defender was also looking forward to making optimal use of the gym and to see more of the resort. “The grounds and facilities are just to die for,” she opined.

Team Doctor Lorie-Ann Miller was pleased with the quality of the meals served and the conditioning of the players. “It's very important that their diet is maintained,” she quipped. “I am very happy as we are definitely getting that from Sandals.”

“We are very excited to host the Girlz here. We are showcasing the brand and we are making sure that they have an unforgettable experience during their stay with us,” General Manager of Sandals Ochi Beach Resort Kevin Clarke observed after meeting the players and hosting them to lunch on Thursday at the Sky Terrace Restaurant.

“This team has made us all so proud by qualifying for France and as a company we are more than happy to play our role in ensuring that they build-up to this historic World Cup is a delightful one for team members,” Clarke added.

The general manager further pointed out that the resort was “very cognisant of the fact that the eyes of the women's football world were on Jamaica once more and Sandals as a brand was delighted to be in the forefront of the campaign”.

The team is hosted by members of the management team daily who ensure that all their need and requests are taken care of. “It's our pleasure,” laundry manager and resort Manager of the Year Shernet Bailey said in between exchanging hugs and smiles with the Girlz.
