Lions Clubs International, the world's largest service organisation, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

The 26 Lions Clubs in Jamaica and the Cayman islands will mark this major milestone at a Gala Centennial dinner/dance at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel on Saturday, October 14, starting at 7:00 pm.

Highlights of the evening include a silent art auction, proceeds from which will go toward the victims of hurricanes Irma and Maria; cabaret with Maria Myrie; awards and presentations to individuals and groups which have contributed to the success of the Lions programme in the region; and a keynote address by Jamaica's Solicitor General Nicole Foster-Pusey.

Special guest at the gala will be District Governor 60b Lion Sherwin Greenidge who will be bringing greetings from Barbados.
