KINGSTON, Jamaica — A police corporal attached to the Organised Crime Investigation Division was reportedly shot and killed late Thursday night in the usually peaceful community of Patrick City, Kingston 20..

Residents told the Jamaica Observer that the shooting occurred as the policeman and a woman walked along Patrick Drive in the community minutes before nine.

According to residents, a vehicle pulled up and persons on-board started firing on the cop, who was wearing  street clothes.

The woman appeared to be unharmed, according to residents.

A resident reported hearing 10 or more shots being fired.

The incident caused traffic to be diverted along other roads as investigators cordoned off the area.
