TWENTY-FOUR-YEAR-OLD Constable Jameel Shettleworth, who is attached to the Ramble Police Station, was arrested by members of the Anti Corruption Branch yesterday and charged with one count of larceny.
According to reports from the Anti Corruption Branch, Shettleworth was on duty when it is alleged that he went into the exhibits store and stole a LG cellular phone that was entrusted to him for safekeeping to be later used as an exhibit in a matter before the courts.
During the daily inventory, it was discovered that the cell phone was missing. Subsequent checks were made and the cell phone was found in his barrack room.
He is scheduled to appear before the Lucea Resident Magistrate's Court tomorrow.
