KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police say that they are making efforts to ascertain the authenticity and origin of a disturbing photograph that has been circulating via a popular instant messaging service.

As such, they are appealing to anyone who may have seen the image and who may be able to identify the child to make contact with Crime Stop at 311 or 811, the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) at 926-6538, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.

The cops did not reveal the content of the photograph.
