Police fatally shoot three gang members in Westmoreland

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Three suspected members of the feared Alma Gang were fatally shot during a security operation in Westmoreland Saturday evening, the police say.

Those killed are 33-year-old Jermaine Brown, otherwise called ‘Peter’ or ‘Yaga’, who was listed among the most wanted by the Westmoreland police; 20-year-old Nicoy Clayton, also called Shake Hand of a Station Road, Negril address, and 24-year-old Ryan Pringle, also called Wackie of Broughton, both in Westmoreland.

A reward of $100,000 was offered for Brown’s capture.??During the massive joint police/military operation an M-16 rifle, an AK-47 rifle, a shotgun and a revolver were recovered.

Cops say that the men were cut down after a gun battle erupted during the raid.

The Alma Gang is said to be responsible for a number of crimes in the parish, including robbery and murder.
