Nurse shot and killed in St Mary

A registered nurse from the Annotto Bay Hospital in St Mary was shot and killed while returning home from work last night.

Thirty-year-old Shellion Pinnock-Lafayette of Farm Heights in Port Maria was shot in her community while driving home from work.

Reports from the Port Maria Police are that about 10:30 pm, residents heard an explosion and summoned the police.

Lafayette was found in her car suffering from gunshot wounds.  She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Lafayette died leaving two young children.

The Port Maria police continue to carry out investigations.
