GEORGETOWN, Guyana (CMC) – At least nine people were reported missing after two boats carrying 20 people collided in the Mazaruni River, Essequibo on Tuesday.
Transport Minister Robeson Benn told the Guyana based demerarawaves.com website that the accident occurred around 1.00pm (local time) at Crab Falls, 25 miles from Bartica.
The website said that several people had been taken to the Bartica Hospital and quoted Benn as saying that the Maritime Administration had been informed and a search party launched.
