THE police are reporting that they have seized more guns and ammunition so far this year.

Speaking at a press briefing at his Old Hope Road Office today, Police Commissioner Owen Ellington said the increased haul in guns and ammunition was due to a revamped policing strategy.

"We have show significant improvement in our seizure of illegal firearms from criminal hands. Year to date we seized over 138 illegal firearms which compares to 122 for the same period last year and we have so far seized over 1,400 rounds of assorted ammunition," he said.
