JAMAICA Labour Party (JLP) councillor  candidate Lee Clarke is expressing confidence in his bid to retain the White Hall Division.

Clarke, who was nominated at the Mamby Park Baptist Church on Constant Spring Road, has indicated that despite of this confidence he would be taking nothing for granted.

"I am confident that I will be returned as councillor and that the Jamaica Labour Party will do well in the Local Government Election," said Clarke.

Clarke, who took over as mayor from now Member of Parliament for West Kingston, Desmond McKenzie, says he was not fazed by suggestions that he stood to lose his seat as mayor if he failed to secure the seat as councillor for the White Hall Division.

"I will not be taking anything for granted but I remain confident," said Clarke.

The People's National Party has selected Dewayne Shettleworth as the party representative for the division.
