Jazz and Blues Festival closes with a Legend

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica - Neo-soul singer John Legend came, saw and conquered on Saturday, closing night of the three-day Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival.
With only his piano, Legend gave an amazing unplugged performance that must rank with the best since the festival's launch in 1996.
The Ohio-born singer made his way on stage at 11:15 pm and delivered a set that had the audience enthralled once he hit the opening notes of Get Lifted.
He then went into Save Room, Again, No Other Love, all drawing rapturous applause.
Legend showed his reggae chops in duets with Gramps Morgan and Tarrus Riley, with whom he did 23rd Psalms and Stay With You, respectively.
It was a performance to savour.
There were also solid showings from Dionne Warwick, KC and the Sunshine Band, Monica, Romain Virgo and Chronixx.
