KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Public Service is warning customers to be on the alert for unscrupulous people impersonating its employees.
Reports out of St Elizabeth are that men with fake IDs and JPS paraphernalia have been visiting customers seeking to gain access their premises, the JPS said in a release Friday.
The Observer earlier reported that police had seized a firearm, fake JPS ID cards, helmets, vests and a motorcar, in Junction, South East St Elizabeth on Thursday.
Customers who have concerns should not allow people claiming to be JPS representatives onto their premises and should instead call the police or contact JPS at 1-888-225-5577 or 1-888-935-5577, the power company advised.
