Tuesday, February 05, 2013 | 7:41 PM

Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth — The St Elizabeth police are on the hunt for two men one of whom is believed to have been shot by a householder after they allegedly broke into his home.

Reports are that the householder, an ex-policeman heard strange sounds at the back of his house in Brighton just outside Santa Cruz, late Sunday night. He went to investigate and reportedly confronted two men armed with guns inside his house.

He reportedly fired his weapon and the men ran. Investigators say that based on a trail of blood outside the house as well as at another address in Santa Cruz there is evidence to suggest that one of the men suffered gunshot wounds.
