Gov't moves to strangle crime.

MINISTER of National Security Peter Bunting this morning presented new security strategies aimed at long term crime reduction. These strategies he said are improvements on previous plans and with proper execution, should garner expected results.

Bunting listed paradigm shifts aimed at getting to the root of criminal activities in certain hot spots across the island.

A previous approach to crime eradication he said was for security personnel to intercept drugs and weapons at the street level, he said the current approach includes steady operations aimed at eradicating the profits driving these criminal organisations.

Bunting also said that instead of only capturing and imprisoning street operators for these criminal enterprises, the security forces will begin to go after the kingpins and facilitators also.
