Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Jamaica Ambassador Marco Mazzocchi Alemannie makes a point at yesterday's launch of the Dispute Resolution Foundation's 'We Want Justice' programme at the Knutsford Court Hotel in Kingston, while Justice Minister and Attorney General Dorothy Lightbourne listens. The programme -- which is being funded by the EU to the tune of J$34 million -- aims to advance democratic rights through the promotion of alternative dispute resolution, mainly mediation, arbitration, and restorative justice practices. It will also provide capacity building, training to community personnel who will help strengthen their local justice systems and empower community members to take control of their lives, to enhance national security, justice and good governance.
