THE police today temporarily lifted the two year ban that was placed on entertainment events that normally follow the annual Boys and Girls Athletics Championships popularly known as 'After Champs parties.

Police said after several months of hard work to reduce what was considered an upsurge in violence among rival schools participating in the athletic competition, the police decided to allow promoters to host several events across the Corporate area.

"We will be lifting the ban," said Knight during a press conference at the Area Four Police headquarters in downtown Kingston .

He however warned that the police would continue to review the decision as the date for Boys and Girls Athletics Championships draws closer.

"The fact that the conflict, the violence and the disputes have been reduced, we are now looking to see how best we can work with some of the promoters," Knight told reporters today.

The police have also issued a call for promoters to start making their applications to host these events.
