Cement company workers to resume duties tonight

FOLLOWING an emergency meeting between workers represented by the National Workers’ Union and representatives of Caribbean Cement Company Limited today at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security in Kingston, a strike staged by the workers have been called off.
The workers have agreed to resume duties on the production line by 10:00 tonight.
Under the terms of the agreement:
Negotiations will continue on tomorrow at 10:00 am at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security in respect of a new Collective Labour Agreement and there will be no victimisation by either side, a release from the Ministry said.
