A man was fined $30,000 or three moths in prison for punching his niece when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Police say the accused man, Andrew Gonzelle, punched his niece several times in the face during a domestic dispute.
But in his defense, Gonzelle, said he slapped the girl three times in her face only after she attacked him.
But his explanation fell on the deaf ears of Resident Magistrate Lorna Shelly Williams who imposed the sentence.
