4. Security ministry says 5 correctional officers, 3 inmates charged in new prison crack down

The Ministry of National Security today reported that five correctional officers and three inmates have been charged on allegations that they acted in consort with staff and individuals outside of the correctional facilities. Full story here

7. Denham Town lock-up escapee sentenced to six months

Twenty-three-year-old Theodore Lawrence otherwise called Theo, who was one of the prisoners who cut their way out of the Denham Town Police Station lock-up last September was on Thursday sentenced to six months. Full story here

10. Three arrested after theft, slaughter of medicated animals

The public is being warned to exercise caution when purchasing goat meat and pork following this morning’s slaughter of four stolen goats and a pig, which the Praedial Larceny Prevention Unit (PLPU) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said were earlier medicated. Full story here
