Cops say no guns, knives or large umbrellas for Gibson

THE Police are advising patrons attending the 36th Gibson Relays at the National Stadium on Saturday,that no firearms, knives, large igloos, glass bottles, frozen water or drinks and umbrellas with pointed tips will be allowed inside the venue.

Licensed firearm holders are being advised to leave their weapons with their local Police or make alternative arrangements for their safekeeping.

All persons entering the stadium will be subject to search.  

The designated entry points are:

VIPs, members of the Diplomatic Corps, teams and officials will enter through gate E1 and park along Statute Road in the vicinity of the swimming pool.

Vehicles (bearing stickers) of accredited media personnel will enter through gate E1.

Members of the general public will park in the general facility.

Statute Road will be operated as the emergency exit and as such will be kept clear at all times.

Motorists must obey the directives of the Police to facilitate a smooth traffic flow.
