Gore returns on March 3

ATL-sponsored race-car driver Douglas Gore and his newly repaired Audi TT-R DTM are set to be in action at the JamWest Speedway in Westmoreland on March 3.
The meet would see Gore at the wheel of his Audi TT-R DTM which was sidelined by damage since May 2012 at the Dover Raceway in St Ann.
"Fabulous. It's simply fabulous. It looks fast just standing still," Gore told Auto, while on a recent trip to ABT Sportsline headquarters in Kempten, Germany, where the race-car was being repaired.
Not only was the car repaired, but it has received several upgrades to make it more competitive.
The Audi's engine was converted to current DTM specifications which sees it unleashing another 50 horsepower. The race-car's suspension was modified.
However, the biggest revamp has been to the external shell. The Audi now sports the look of the current generation Audi TT production car; more importantly, the physical appearance brings with it aerodynamic improvements.
Despite the improvements, Gore — who is back in Jamaica — has not yet tested his new machine.
"Unfortunately, the weather in Germany wasn't co-operating with us, and the driving sessions planned for the Audi test track had to be cancelled due to snow, rain and hail. We went as far as Italy to look for an alternative, but the weather there was basically the same," he said.
