TEENChef - Strawberry Daiquiri

With Gavin Plowright

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

TEEN Chef hopes you have been quenching your thirst and getting rehydrated for this hot and sizzling summer. This week we will be doing a Strawberry Daiquiri, which tends to be a favourite for all those trying to beat the heat. You will enjoy the chill it brings and that slight but perfect shock of sour you get as it tickles your tongue. Welcome the master of BRAIN FREEZEEEEE...

Ingredients

1 pack strawberries (fresh or frozen)

8 fl oz strawberry syrup

2 fl oz lime juice

1 lb ice, crushed

1 each cherry, maraschino

Method

1. Add all the ingredients in a blender, except the cherry, and blend.

2. Pour in a hurricane glass with a straw. Garnish with a cherry.

Today's TEEN Chef Tip is courtesy of Executive Chef Karl Thomas:

— The freshness of the strawberries enhances the richness of the daiquiri, that is, the fresher the strawberries the better the quality of the frozen drink.
