SOS Etiquette - Your Napkin... Part 3
Thursday, December 08, 2011
We conclude our SOS series on the napkin today by responding to questions about napkin size, folding the napkin and shaking the napkin.
There truly is no need for patrons to aggressively shake their napkins as if readying to hang clothes out to dry. Move the napkin to your lap and commence your dining experience.
Does Size Matter?
Indeed it does! Your 12" square luncheon napkin is to be opened fully and spread across your lap.
Your 22" dinner napkin however, is to be folded in half ahead of placing it across your lap.
On completion of your meal return the napkin to the table. Do resist the urge to thoroughly fold your napkin as we are hopeful that the napkins will be laundered in preparation of the next set of diners.
