All Day, All Night at Pita Grill

The Barbican road area just got a lot busier with the opening of Pita Grill. Located inside Orchid Village Plaza, the new eatery is a 24-hour ‘grab and go’ destination that’s bound to find favour with those in need of a quick, nutritious and tasty bite. Ray Hanna, who operates the restaurant alongside daughter Amanda, shared with Thursday Food: “This is a suitable area for a restaurant of this nature. The fact that so many businesses are in proximity makes it ideal.” It certainly is, based on what we saw on Monday afternoon. The impressive menu offers chicken and beef burgers, meat and vegetable wraps, sub sandwiches including the Philly Cheese Steak, salads, Lebanese cuisine and much more. Pita Grill’s competitive edge lies in its made-to-order options and attractive price points.

The new eatery’s location once housed Susie’s Daily Bread which Ray Hanna and wife Susie operated. The Hannas also are proprietors of long-time hot spot Susie’s Bakery and Coffee Bar. “Pita Grill is a completely different entity from Susie’s,” Hanna told Thursday Food. “The food is different and so are the prices.” Hanna continued by stating that this eatery is about offering more. “It is for everybody at anytime. At nights when most places are closed, we’re still open so partygoers can stop by on their way home.” Pita Grill also offers a breakfast menu filled with options for those who just want to pick up something on their way to work.

When stopping by to get a quick meal, customers have the luxury of even staying in their vehicles and being greeted by waiters who will take their order using iPads; and get this: if you like, the food is then taken to you.

After operating for only a week, Hanna advised Thursday Food that they were looking into starting a franchise, with the next Pita Grill possibly being located in Tropical Plaza. However, for the time being, the eatery is creating quite a buzz in Orchid Village Plaza as customers rush to try something different and new.
