Trend Alert: Make Way For the Side-Part
Get the Look:
The Get the Look team is certainly enjoying the trends of the awards season so far. And let’s just say the 19th annual Screen Actor's Guild awards certainly didn't disappoint. Though the fresh-faced nude makeup trend continued, a new hair trend emerged for actresses with long and medium-length hair alike.
The deep side part was definitely Sunday's musthave look, and stylists had fun showcasing the look in a variety of ways. Actresses such as Julianne Moore, Claire Danes and Amanda Seyfried were among our favourites.
Here is how you can get the award-winning look courtesy of Hollywood stylists Renato Campora, Mara Roszak and Jenny Cho — the geniuses behind Jessica Chastain, Michelle Dockery and Amanda Seyfried's side-parts for the big night — who recently shared their styling tips with US Magazine …
1 Prep wet hair with mousse (Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Boost & Lift Foaming Air Mousse), and spritz with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Heat Protect & Shine Spray before blow-drying with a round brush. Then, part the hair on the side to give hair extra volume.
2 For even more volume, after blow drying and parting hair, divide hair into four or five big sections and curl the lower half of each section. Mist a paddle brush with Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairpsray and brush over the waves for a softer look.
3 To get Dockery's side waves, her hairstylist Mara Roszak recommends a marcel curling iron. Complete the look by misting the hair with Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray for extra shine.
