SOCIAL: Sweet Caroline!
producer Caroline St George celebrated her ‘she didn’t say, we didn’t ask’ birthday (yes, they say it’s not polite to ask a lady her age) at her exquisite Cottage 9 residence at Round Hill in Hanover on Tuesday.
The musically charged soirée saw St George sharing the momentous occasion with family, friends and well-wishers, as several notable players on the western side of The Rock came out to wish the always-effervescent St George a happy birthday.
Jamaican fare was the order of the night — pimento jerk chicken, fried bammy and steamed snapper — which perfectly complemented the song selections from Full Force sound system as they kept vibe and energy going with popular Jamaican hits. Now, a party for a music producer would not be complete without some live performances and that was where the party hit fever pitch.
Singers Shaneika Hibbert, Sasanya Dawson and Khalia Million from London got things rolling with their rendition of popular hits such as Rihanna’s Work, but the always ‘swagging’ Fambo took it up a few notches with Rum and Red Bull and brought the house down with his version of Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline, for the birthday girl herself. The incomparable Eek-A-Mouse delivered his hits as only he could. ‘Bad Gyal’ Ce’Cile and In My Cup singer Richie Loop closed out the segment on a high with their hits adding to an already festive affair.
