The timing on the cusp of a new year could not have been better, and judging from the ear-to-ear smiles of billionaire Michael Lee Chin and Geejam Collection Jon Baker, it's all worked out. It certainly has and the new look Trident Hotel was certainly worth the wait.
The design team, led by architect Vidal Dowding of Atelier-Vidal Ltd with construction by Relmac Construction Company Ltd, has juxtaposed Jamaican Georgian style with tropical contemporary style to deliver wide, open welcoming space, with a distinct Caribbean feel. The peacocks, by the way, have been replaced with sheep.
SO takes you inside the double height lobby with a giant Luxo floor lamp, travertine-clad relief wall and a custom-built Murano glass chandelier. We then step through 14-foot-high custom doors, down a few steps to a 60-foot-long reflecting pool that leadsto a stunning infinity edge pool and the horizon of the gorgeous azure Caribbean Sea…
