Pregnant grey clouds in last Sunday’s morning sky did little to deter the sailing plans of the fab set out for boater Andrew Gallimore’s introductory weekend outing to Maiden Cay aboard his super-comfortable 69-foot power catmaran Loose Cannon.‘

sea-sure’ guests steadily streamed in — gliding down the walkway of the Grand Port Royal Hotel in the seaside town of Port Royal, tote bags and backpacks in hand and making their way on to the docked vessel.

Raising anchor before noon, Captain Conway Thompson chartered a course for the party-hearty Sunday cruise crowd along the turquoise waters of Kingston Harbour en route to Maiden Cay. Bikini-clad belles and board shorts-wearing gents, imbibing cocktails and jamming to a hit music soundscape spun by DJ Tyler and Third Dimension (fronted by the pair of cousins Kamal Bankay and Ryan Geddes), found sweet comfort on the sunpad and deck, as well as indoors in the catamaran’s air-conditioned cabin.

Free-flowing, liquor-fuelled appetites were satiated by a Ribbiz UltraLounge-catered menu of eats that included grilled polish, jerk and pork sausage; char siu grilled pigs’ tail; chicken quesadillas; filet mignon. “Ribbiz,” Gallimore disclosed, “will be the official catering partner for Loose Cannon’s excursions that will include nightime cruises around the Harbour, and weekend cruises to Maiden Cay.”

SO invites you to the party on the sea.

If you’re interested in a cruise aboard the Loose Cannon, the catamarn has nightime cruises on Wednesdays and Fridays, and weekend cruises on Sunday to Maiden Cay . Call 495-2222 or 381-3355 for more details.
